To be ‘adrift’ is to be floating without steering, not anchored or moored.

A life less planned, is often a life more fulfilled. Whether you’re drifting the globe from place to place, floating through mixed career paths or letting passion projects steer your course—there’s a little nomad in all of us, longing to roam and experience life’s spontaneity.

This website is a portfolio of all things adrift.

You will read interviews from extraordinary women all over the world, who have at times found themselves on a road less travelled or unforeseen. These women are a source of inspiration and are making their mark in disparate ways; we take a look at life through their lens as they share diverse perspectives and their unique experiences.

We’ll share travel stories from across the globe, and some travel gems that will help you navigate your favourite destinations. From restaurant and bar reviews, to fabulous florists and yoga recommendations—we’ll serve up all the greatest nooks and crannies so you don’t have to go searching for them.

A grandiose word for someone who spent the first twenty-five years of her life firmly fastened to one city, as fate would have it ‘adrift’ is now a word I relate to with profound appreciation.

Five years ago I relocated from Sydney to London. For me, living in Europe unlocked an affection for travel and exploration that had been burning gently inside of me since I can remember. A perpetual writer and inquisitive journalist, I have forever possessed an ability to meticulously document my life and the lives of those around me. From collecting business cards of every restaurant I have ever visited, to documenting each holiday with an anthology of photographs that could size-up the chief bowerbird. As you can imagine, moving overseas only augmented this pursuit.

Two years later, I found myself crossing the Atlantic to live in San Francisco. Again, I snapped and I documented. Armed with countless overflowing travel journals and living in the technology hub of the world, it seemed only natural to take my findings online—and adrift was born.

I look forward to chronicling my travels on this site, to sharing special gems from the places I have lived and featuring the stories of some of the most inspirational women I have had the privilege of meeting along the way.
