If you’re in Amsterdam for a decent enough stay that a yoga class calls, the spaces at Delight Yoga are so nice you sometimes want to sleep there. All three studios are in the middle of Amsterdam, and each time you walk in to one and become engulfed in its white flushed walls, you are amazed at how much calmer you instantly feel.
All three studios are a special oasis. They offer all sorts of yoga, meditation, massage, nutrition and lifestyle consultations and beautiful tearooms to relax in before and after class. For someone who is not from the city, you must try the Weteringschans studio – walking up the stairs of this beautiful old building surrounded by white open space, burning candles, chandeliers, stone Buddha statues and crystal rocks is only the beginning. The studio itself is on the top floor and looks out onto all the little toy houses that line the canals outside – it’s like the storybook of yoga practice.
The lessons are taught in English, by dedicated teachers who are dynamic and experienced. If you are experienced in your practice, we recommend the advanced classes – the all levels classes may take some time to find the right teacher for you, as sometimes these classes can be on the basic side.
