Lottie: A Sydney Rooftop Escape Inspired by the Shared Pacific Coastlines
Recently opened Lottie is a contemporary Mexican restaurant and Mezcaleria found atop The Eve Hotel’s lush rooftop oasis, designed for all seasons. Expect traditional Mexican flavours crafted with fresh Australian produce – inspired by the shared Pacific coastlines.
Sydney’s rooftop scene has a new standout, and it’s raising the bar in more ways than one. Lottie, the latest venture from the team behind Bistecca and The Gidley, crowns Redfern’s recently opened The Eve Hotel. With panoramic city views, a refined yet relaxed alfresco setting, and a drinks list anchored in premium agave spirits, this is a destination designed for those who appreciate the finer details.
A Menu with Intention
Lottie takes inspiration from the Pacific coastline of Mexico, channelling its vibrant flavours through the lens of exceptional Australian produce. The menu is precise yet effortless, offering considered small plates like rockmelon and watermelon ‘gildas’ and delicate trout ceviche with Geraldton wax. Larger dishes showcase depth and balance—think Swiss brown tamales, aged beef chop with burnt pepper salsa, and Murray cod pibil wrapped in banana leaves. Every dish is complemented by house-pressed corn tortillas, reinforcing the commitment to authenticity.
A Bar Defined by Agave Excellence
Tequila and mezcal lead the charge at Lottie, with a cocktail program that highlights the versatility of agave spirits. Three signature Margaritas—classic, spiced, and a seasonal variation—anchor the list, while a curation of natural and biodynamic wines ensures there’s a perfect pairing for every dish.
Elevated Design, Effortless Ambiance
Designed by George Livissianis, Lottie’s aesthetic is understated yet undeniably striking. Encircled by palm trees, the courtyard restaurant is dusted pink, with textured terracotta terrazzo, pink travertine, and plush banquettes creating a warm, inviting retreat.
A central marble bar serves as the heart of the space, while travertine walls and colourful planting enhance the lush surroundings. An open kitchen also adds an element of theatre.
